Just Reviewing

Little Big Planet –a review by me

What to say about “little big planet”? The world of cute has been dying for a game as creative and adorable such as this. Starting off with a kind British accent the narrator is charming and very whimsical. The joking undertones are delightful and the imagery behind the introduction of creators reminds me of something Tim Burton would think of on an overdose of lunesta.

Sack boy a pretty much uncreative name for a common sewn critter with a zipper tummy is delightful as you push the left control buttons up and down and his facial expressions change from tongue hanging jubilation to raging alcoholic mad (or was that just me), his adorable coordinating hand jesters to compliment the facial expressions go from peace sign, balled up fist and thumbs down bring tears to the eyes of viewers.

The game play it self is quite easy to start with. My only trouble being the layers of 3d action play as he can shift from very close to the screen, mid screen and back screen making the visual coordination difficult. Hopefully as the game progresses this will not be an issue.

The characters are cute, the story line in depth and the challenges come at a gradual but expected pace. There is the Mario-esc feeling as you complete a level and race to the end with the tally of the levels score then come back to your home “pod”.
Like many of the games of the year there is the online play feature where one can go to a virtual world created by other players of “little big planet” and share the levels they have created.

For just putting in about an hour and a half last night I give the game two joysticks up. I think that it will be more exciting as it progresses and I get better in tuned with the PS3 remote—you know me wii girl all the way.

I look forward to putting in a couple more hours as soon as possible.
