New Fabric!

I so have a deep seeded love for Hancock fabric that it occasionally hurts, literally my wallet and my need to drive needles into my fingers. I walked in this past weekend to pick up a zipper and an inside fabric for the purse I have been wanting to make for myself for months now. Seeing that my AMAZING Mother bought me a new sewing machine this past month and sadly Lance was on call this weekend at the hospital I had the materials, time and opportunity to put my purse together. . . . well that didn’t happen. I walked into the lovely Hancock fabric down the road from me and again only wanting to get a zipper and a little bit of fabric, and my most favorite fabric selection (remnants) were on sale two for a dollar. That caught my attention and then I looked around and noticed all the 52% off signs, my heart skipped a beat and I grabbed a basket.

I picked up the above fabrics, I saw the Nerds Rock and thought instantly of my dear Gina. Not sure what it will turn into but . . . something will eventually come to me.

I also picked up some really cute baby prints, as I have recently found out my sister has fallen into pregnancy. She email a request for a diaper bag, but I wasn’t sure if she was joking or not but I found this amazing brown fabric with blue forget me nots on a back ground of natural colored daisies. It sounds much more girlie than it looks. Patterns come to find out were also on sale for 99cents, really surprised that I didn’t purchase more, looking back, but the basket was already tipping over at this point and the store was 3 minutes. So I picked up a pattern for bibs as well. Seeing that Seth might have grown out of the stage but our dear friends the Williams brought us a baby boy to play with last month and one of these days I think he will be able to sit and eat.

Here is a photo of the diaper bag going through the machine.

Thank you so much to my buddy Stephanie who reads all my facebook posts and invited me over for a girlie-sewing play date to get me started on this project, it was TONS of fun!

So baby fever has continued at our home, now don’t go thinking that means we are pregnant because we are so far from pregnant, some days I think it hurts. But we are absorbing all that is baby that surrounds us right now and I think that might be satisfying the need, no not really but what else can I say? So congrats to Hancock for causing me to spend more money than I should and thank you to my kind lovely sister for making my sewing machine feel like it can earn its keep.

Gina keep me posted on if you can think of anything the fabric can turn into.

Thanks for reading.
****On a side note my dear friend Kathy purchased me some really cool simpsons fleece fabric, currently it is living on the back of Lance's new office chair, but soon it will become something, just waiting for the calling to come. *****

Sleep pants for Gina?
I did the Nerds Rock too! If I could sew I would look for it and make something for Ant (the blond guy you saw with me) b/c he is a huge nerd.

I keep coming back to check the bag status...lol does that make me a silly sad person?

Sewing is EASY Elena...you should totally learn. I mean, not sewing like Jen does...that requires genius.
